GENERAL EVENT INFORMATION    

  

LOCATION:

  

Indee Station 65Km South of the town of Port Hedland, WA.

  

EVENT DATES:

2012 event 13th - 15th July.

   

RACE DISTANCE:

Overall race distance 500km.

Day One:       Prologue approx 8km

Day Two:       2 x 125 Km loops.

Day Three:    2 x 125 Km loops.

   

TERRAIN:

Pilbara Desert (Hard Packed), Station Tracks, Rocky sections, Sandy Rivers, Creek Crossings.

SCRUTINEERING:  

• Friday 1000hrs and 1200hrs at the track for prologue riders

• Saturday morning Scrutineering will also be held at 0700 hrs

• Failure to attend will result in disqualification

  

NUMBERS:

• All bikes must have clear and visible numbers on the left and right number plates plus front.

(Preferably white on black or black on white display)

• All Quads must have clear and visible numbers on the front and rear number plates.

• Number allocations (top 20 outright finishers from 2011 have the option of there placing allocation)

• Number # 28 will be a silent number (not available) in memory of Paul McKinnis.

• All other riders to be on a first in basis with nominations.

• Any conflicts of numbers will be decided by the race secretary 

  

FUEL STOPS:

Start finish line pit area.

60Km mark.

  

FUEL:

• Rider’s must provide their own fuel.

• All engines are to be turned off whilst refueling.

• Fuel must be stored in approved plastic fuel storage containers with spouts.

• Only approved fuel storage containers in good condition will be allowed into the track refueling area.

• All fuel must be place on the designated fuel trailer by 8.00am on both race day mornings. containers are to be clearly marked by the riders for identification

• Riders are encouraged to provide a pit crew for the fuel stop if refueling there, the refueling point is self service

  

CODE OF CONDUCT:

• The landowners of Indee Station have invited PHMC and visitors onto their property for this event.

• PHMC expects all competitors and their visitors to respect the owner’s good will and act responsibly.

• Competitors will be held responsible and be accountable for their guests and helpers.

• Any misbehaviour will not be tolerated and will result in you being asked to leave the property.

• Any children on the property will be the responsibility of all competitors, guests and helpers of the event.

STATION ACCOMMODATION: Phone (08) 9176 4968

• Donga, Cabin and Cottage accommodation is available at the station. 

• Full board including meals (breakfast, Lunch, Dinner) is available, bookings compulsory.

• A camp kitchen is also available with microwave, fridge, freezer and BBQ facilities.

• Shaded campsites are available with hot showers and toilets facilities

• Bore water only on site. Competitors are asked to bring drinking water

• Ice will be available on site

• Pets/animals are not allowed on the Station’s property.

START ORDER

• As per prologue results

  

FRIDAY PROLOGUE

• Prolgue is not compulsory, riders not doing prologue will be placed in starting possition according    to nominatation date/time order

• Prologue will commence at 1300hrs on Friday

• Bike (two wheel) prologue will be run first, followed by Quad (4 wheel) bikes

• Prologue track length will be approx 8km  

• Top 20 placed riders from last years event will be given same place start order for prologue event in the bike or quad classes

• Pony express teams can nominate one rider to ride the prologue for their team

• Prologue riders briefing will be held at 1230hrs on Friday

  

REGISTRATION:

• Prologue riders need to register between 1000hrs and 1200hrs Friday

• Non Prologue riders to register between 0700hrs and  0815hrs Saturday

  

SATURDAY RACE DAY 1

• Rider must register between 7.00am and  8.15am

• Rider must have bike and riding gear scrutinized between 7.00am and 7.30am.

• Riders briefing is at 8.30am – attendance is compulsory.

• Racing will start at 9.30am sharp.

• The riders will start one at a time, one minute apart (conditions permitting)

• Riders will attempt to complete two (2) laps.

• Riders who have not started their second lap by 1.00pm, won’t be allowed to continue until the following day.

• Any rider who does not finish or breaks down must inform the lap scorer immediately upon returning to pits.

• Late nominations and starters will start from rear of field.  

  

SUNDAY RACE DAY 2

• All riders must re-register from 7.00am to 8.15am.

• Any rider not starting Day 2 must inform the lap scorers.

• Riders Briefing is at 8.30am – attendance is compulsory.

• Racing starts at 9.30am sharp.

• Riders will start in finish order from Day 1, riders will start one at a time, one minute apart (conditions permitting)

• Riders will attempt to complete two (2) laps.

• Riders who have not started their second lap by 1.00pm, will not be allowed to continue (ie race finished).

• Any rider who does not finish or breaks down must inform the lap scorer immediately upon returning to pits.

• Track will be cleared by sweep riders.

• Presentation will commence once track is cleared of all riders

  

• Any protests must be lodged in writing to clerk of the course. A $50 protest charge applies.

  

PRE-RUNNING (NIL)

There will be 'NO' pre running of the track at any time. Any person found pre-running the track will not be permitted to participate in the Indee 500 event. Entry will not be refunded.

  

RACE CLASSES

   E1 (up to 125cc-2 stroke and up to 250cc 4-stroke) 

   E2 (126cc to 250cc 2-stroke and 251cc to 450cc 4-stroke)  

   E3 (251cc and up 2-stroke and 451cc and up 4-stroke)            

   Pony Express any capacity bikes, both two wheel and quads (not eligible for outright win)      

   Veterans any capacity bikes, both two wheel and quads (35+ years of age)                

   Quads (four wheels only)  

  

Race officials reserve the right to make any changes the above schedule(s) at there discretion
